i think this song is about the power we could have if we followed our path be it good (first verse) or bad (second and third) i also think its pointing out that people could invest so much in a corprate bussness and it can consume them untill they have complear controll
that plus riding his bike with no handlebars is like he is living his life without a destination, just riding. or more like, he has complete control of his life, he doesnt need to use the "handlebars" to guide himself. he can do anything he wants, even end up as the president. this song is soo badass man. woo!

Praying is a form of standing up moron. Every major uprising in history had religious figures influencing at the center. A protesting Monk actually set himself on fire to end a governmental uprising. Praying is standing up, or at least reassuring your soul for what needs to be done.

2 friends take 2 paths one creativity freedom lets say his name is chris and the other government and order hes sean. Sean thought that because he had power that he could do as he pleased to the people aka he became corrupt. So Chris gets a group of people and rebels and Sean ends up killing him and he realizes what hes done nad regrets it all...basically it means our government is corrupt and that power can lead people to do horrible things at least thats what i think
very good video and song. about 2 peole who are close friends and choose different paths. one begins to misuse his power unknowingly while the other stays pure. when the pure one tries to end the abuse of power he starts an unneeded war and his best friend figures out wat hes done wrong. but his friend dies before he can stop it. very meaningfull song

Your comment is clearly the example of the difference between people who are innovators and people who work at burger king. Essentially the song is about learning the "basic fundamentals" of riding your bike with no handlebars, ( i accomplished that, what else can I do) ,then advancing to a higher form of thinking by putting ideas into motion that can benefit or destroy society.
In the sequel to this video the corrupt leader who killed his friend reaquisitions every firearm, projectile, etc, on Earth, by any means, and then reverse engineers them with some sort of magnetic technology, so that when they fire, the projectile goes straight back towards the user.
in addition to what i just said notice how at 1:54 the hawk kills the dove in the begining one takes the path of the dove. just the same they both die by something currupt
If you watch the video, it starts off about two friend's learning how to ride their bike with no handle bar. They are confronted with a decision to go to separate paths. One chooses the path of corporations, the other chooses the path of the dove. At 1:10 the guy who chose corporations starts singing. The song is about abuse of power and the misuse of technology. The video goes on to the guy who chose the path of the dove rebelling and then getting killed. It's a political song. Be open minded.
this is an amazing song! but the video is somewhat sad. i mean 2 friends split up. one goes on as a free spirited kind of person and the other becomes a major major buissness man who is corrupted by power and then the corrupted friend goes ahead and kills his friend but doesnt realize what happened until after he slaughters all those people... including his friend... DUDE!! they could totally make a movie out of this song!!!! i would totally go and see it!!!!!! love the song!! 5/5!!!
The basic premise behind the song is you can do anything you want to, whether it leads to good consequences (handing out a million vaccinations etc.) or bad consequences (ending the world in a holocaust) etc. Wherever you go further with the idea is your own thought.
What i think the story is about is two friends that both start out just hsving fun and 1-upping eachother and just livng. but then the one friend wants to better himself so he goes into political America and gets curropted by power while the other friend is nstill just living, and one day he see's whats going on and how edverything is changing for the worst so he rebels and his friend slaughters every1 even himself to maintan power and doesn't realise what he's doing untill everything is gone.

Then it says, i can put anyone in prison because i dont like them, or have anyone assassinated. (U.S during the fight on communism and on terrorism), cause is noble(belief that they are right) then i can guide a missile by satellite, hit a target through a telescope, end the planet in a holocaust(nuclear war and fallout) All the the U.S could do and some they have done. Think of the wall in the video with the dove painted on it. Torn down as in the destruction of peace.
The video is about how the gov't uses big business and media propaganda to try to neutralize citizens as political agents by dumbing them down. eventually people decide they aren't gonna take being ignored and controlled any longer. They protest and the gov't ends up killing them to squash dissent. it's not about a foreign war it's about a resistance to big brother, a massive, repressive, fascist gov't.
we must end ALL inefficient gov't programs, cut taxes, return power to the states & localities (us), manufacture our own goods, take advantage of nuclear energy to stop dependence on others, defend our borders & demand the parties & media represent us & unite as Americans to force them to do so regardless of party affiliation. We're NOT stupid. we must resist being slaves to the gov't. They work for us not vice versa. Thomas Jefferson said the best gov't is the gov't which governs the least
I agree with the earlier statements except on one issue, Hellcat900. I dont think were stupid, I think that alot of us are ignorant, We dont take the time to understand how the govt works, or to keep an eye on what their doing. It would be impossible for them to pull the wool over our eyes if we put our hand up to stop it, but the thing is alot of us simply rely on the govt, to give us the information about the govt. lol Thats why we only know what they want us to know. The key to breaking that
I think its just about just how many things we as humans can do and we can create or destroy as we wish. Also there's a message of how much power an individual can have and how big of a difference they can make depending on their actions.
yes gov't is taking control to eliminate the private sphere thereby enlarging gov't. today they want to control our bodies & money; tomorrow it'll be our beliefs. pay attention to everything gov't is doing now & who it ultimately benefits. you'll find its not the people but the oligarchs (them). they say they despise big corporations yet they're making deals with them behind our backs. They're censoring diverse opinions in schools & the work place. they're using schools as propaganda mills
The song describes how humanity can use their intelligence/ gifts. In the first half of the song the singer chooses to use his intelligence in a moral way ("design an engine", "run a business" )
At the end of the song, the singers' gifts are used in a way that is destructive to humanity rather than beneficial. He chooses violence over morality
I love this song it has such a deep meaning 2 friends on live a normal life and 1 goes to business and takes over america and takes away the freedoms of the people and they rise together and at the end he finally sees what he has done when his friend dies and i believe thats what needs to happen to our country we are being lied to and screwed over by our goverment and we the people are sitting here and taking it. its time to do something about it and stop acting clueless wake up america!!!
It is about the difference between artistic and corporate life. Two friends growing up the same but taking two different paths, one can dance and sing, and has understanding of heart and soul, he's peaceful and artistic, the other gets into business and money and power and corruption, contolling medicines and weapons etc, and the sad irony of the story is that one childhood friend ultimately ends up killing the other when the peaceful one rallies the masses against the corporate one, or world
I think that it is representative of the Human Race. We start off being able to do only simple things but before long we've progressed to the point where we can destroy the planet if we wanted to.
But I think that this song is awesome and people who insult others who like it and express that *cough* Datcrazychic *cough* are idiots>:(
thats sad. sometimes i feel like that happens 2 me. me being the 1 who gets killed in the end. sometimes both. i love playing this song on drumset. it's so fun. i just get lost in the beat and start playing w/ my eyes closed and making badass fills and just unleashing the beast. this song is badass. 8D |
How the hell do you guys know what this song symbolizes? The artists meant what they meant, and we receive the meaning that we see from it. Whether or not that's what the song 'symbolizes', it doesn't matter, that artist has conveyed a message
Since no one else seems able 2 im gonna come right out and say it..........theres really no easy way to type this, but...........someone needs to tell u laz bums who leave comments all the time to get up and do something about todays problems instead of bickering like a bunch of...whatever a good metaphor is... kudos too those of u tht do but im pretty sure most of u dont....im only 14 dont attack me plzzzzzz |
Abraham Lincoln said "If you want good, free meals, good health, peace, and security go to prison, if u want freedom stay out." this is represented by the two way sign in the beginning and i hope we all know which way to choose at that sign
not exactly man. while u make good points, the song isn't nessecarily about america in particular. Its about humanitys general and how when it comes to wars, people are ready, but goals like world peace seem so far out there that most just write it off and inacsessable and to far gone and that most think that their one action wont change anything.. and its true, while one action may not change anything, it can cause more to follow displaying the same action, thats when it means something
The song, I don't mean the lyrics, is not the best, but what it says has a lot of meaning behind it. The people who say hate the song or say it doesn't make sense don't truly listen and comprehend what the song is about. This song is about America and how we so many corporations that don't help us, but we have so many minute organizations that necesarily help, but to create openings for change. Not the "change" Obama talks about, but change that helps everyone, not just large or small people
In MY OWN opinion or interpretation since iv been introduced to a variety of different ideas the song is the story of two friends who take parallel paths in life. One chooses peace (dove) the other selfishness, greed, and money (crow). I think the song shows the duality of the limitless possibilities of human nature. First, all the positive possibilities of human nature are explored with examples ranging from the simplistic(riding a bike with no handlebars
